Arguments For & Against Audiobooks

One of the leading debates in the bookish world is, are audio books, in fact, real books? Or should you even bother with audio books if you read paper or ebooks.

Against
1. Books don't have pages to turn. Though I'm not sure if this is even an argument because ebooks don't technically have pages to turn either.

2. You can't listen in front of others. That's a bad argument too. Because with ear buds you totally can.

For
1. You can listen in the car. You can't very well bring a book in the car unless you are a passenger. And even then I get carsick trying to read and drive. Audio books are perfect for in the car. Only, if you are the driver, don't wear earbuds in the car, you have to be aware enough to drive.

2. You can listen at work. This one depends on your job. If you work in the service industry you can't very well listen while you work. But, if you work in an office and spend a lot of time on the computer,  then pop in some ear bugs and listen while you work.

3. You can listen while doing chores. Even at home you can't always sit down to read a book. Enter audio books. Whether you are blasting your Bluetooth speaker or wear your earbuds to listen you can listen to audio books to make your chores more bearable.

Do you listen to audiobooks?

Ruined by Tania Joyce

This book was both on Facebook ads and my Facebook breeder/pregnancy Facebook group. However it is a surprise pregnancy book with a twist.

Kara just had a heartbreaking split up and found out she would never have children. Hunter offers her one night to forget her troubles. That one night results in a very surprising pregnancy. Not only does Hunter not want a child, but he also insists all they have together was the one night. Despite his reservations he steps up to be a Dad. Throughout their pregnancy they get closer together, but it isn't til the unthinkable happens that they really draw together.

The feels in this book are great. I actually teared up a few times.

It wasn't really a dislike, just a minor annoyance. But, the story is set in the United States, with characters from the United States, but everyone talks like they are from Australia because that is where the author is from.

I rated this book ❤❤❤❤❤

Animal Crossing Book Tag

So, I'm really digging the book tag thing. This time I found one based on Animal Crossing New Horizons.

Past Villager- Who is a character you found when you were younger that still has a place in your heart?
Probably Lizzie Bennett from Pride and Prejudice.  I always was attracted to bookish sorts in books. Still am. Love teachers, readers, writers, etc. in my books.

Blather's Blatherings- Recommend a historical fiction book that you think everybody should read.
I don't have any specific one, but I particularly enjoy mail-order brides novels.

Celeste's Wish- What is a future book release you want to read now?
The Beastly Boss by Sofia T. Summers it may be available by the time I post this.

Timmy and Tommy- What is your favorite sibling relationship in a book?
Classic? The sisters in Pride and Prejudice of course. Modern? Ellie and her brother in Vegas Aces Home Game-End Game. I've read that series 6 times!

The Easter Bunny- A popular book character you're not a big fan of.
There isn't really any particular character, just the book series I couldn't get into. Harry Potter being the biggest one.

Nook's Loans- An author you'de give all your money to.
Sofia T. Summers for sure, luckily every book of hers I've come across was on Kindle Unlimited so I haven't had to literally give her all my money.

The Sisters Able- What is your favorite fictional family (found or otherwise?)
Probably the March family in Little Women, or The Five Little Peppers. I can't think of any contemporary books.

It's A C+- What is a book trope you don't like that keeps popping up?
Second Chance. I like secret babies which can sometimes mean Second Chances. Generally I don't like Second Chance romance, though.

The Wedding Camel- What is your favorite book set in a land far away from yours?
Chronicles of Narnia for sure.

What Would Dodos Do?- A fictional land you wish you could fly away to at any moment?
Any land that isn't dangerous.  I don't really like danger.

The Broken One by Brittney Sahin

I found this book from Facebook ads, that's where I find a lot of my books. This book is a military veteran book, which is one of my favorites. It is also a Brother's Best Friend trope, something we all know I love.

Jesse and Ella have been in love with each other for years, and they find themselves in New York together with a deal to have a no strings attached night together. Fast forward three years and Jesse finds out Ella's life is in danger because he loves her. They set up a plan to fake marriage to draw out the killer, but along the way they have to face how they feel about each other.

The pure love between Jesse and Ella's gets to me. I got so caught up in the story.

There is a lot of technical jargon in this novel, it was a dislike for me. But, even with a military background, it was hard to read.

I rate this book ❤❤❤❤❤

Favorite Modern Authors

I did a post on favorite classic authors, which was weird because I review contemporary romance. Not that I wouldn't mind reviewing a classic, I just haven't read one in awhile. I have been reading lots by my favorite contemporary romance authors so, let's see what those are.

Lauren Landish
I haven't read many of her books because I have so many books on my TBR list, but The Truth was one of my all time favorite books. The Dare comes first in that two part series, but honestly The Truth was better. I have every intention of reading more books by this author.

R.S. Elliot
I have read maybe five books by this author.  I haven't read all the books written by this author but every time they write a new book, I have to read it. My most recent read by them is Not So Fake, a fake relationship, friends to lovers book.

Lisa Suzanne
Her work is not stuff I would normally like. Only one person's POV, and HFN series. But, it works for Lisa Suzanne.  I have read all the Vegas Aces books so far and Home Game-End Game six times. I really enjoy her books.

Sofia T. Summers
I don't know if I've read all of hers, I may have three or four left to read. I don't think my readers would like it very much if I suddenly started reading only her books, but every time she comes out with a new one I read it. So far, my favorite has been The Vegas Accident.  Her books always include age gaps, and a surprise pregnancy. Sometimes she throws in a secret baby romance.

Bred Winner by Frankie Love

Because I love pregnancy romance, I'm a member of a breeder/pregnancy reader group on Facebook.  This book was recommended.  The last book they recommended ended up being a dud, so I was leary of reading another book recommended in the group. Thankfully this one was much better. I had to pay for this book but it was only $0.99.

Major wants someone to come home to, a wife. Then Molly moves in next door to be a nanny to the neighbor kids. Major is in love right away. Maybe Molly is too, but she has some concerns before she goes all in.

This book has all the feels. The insta love, the desire for family.

I rate this book ❤❤❤❤❤

Ereader Vs. Paper Book Debate

Which is better the ereader or a paper book? Personally I use an reader, but I have paper books as well. However,  I wanted to look at the arguments For both of them and show how they stack up.

Paper Books
1. They smell good. Any reader worth their salt loves the smell of a book, old books even better. Heck, they even make candles that smell like books. Yummy.

2. They bend. Well book lover fall into two categories: those that bend their books ever which way while they settle into new reading position. And, those that would never actually *gasp* hurt a book.

3. They look pretty on the shelf. I have seen some beautiful rainbow displays of books on shelves. Personally I arrange by size, and I think that is just as beautiful too. My mom collected old books to use as home decor even. Of course, I've read them all.

Ereaders
1. They store lots of books. Probably the biggest argument in favor of ereaders, and my personal favorite. I don't have room for bookshelves in my house at the moment. I know it sacrilege to a book lover like me, but it's the sad fact of life right now. With An ereader I have thousands of books on my nightstand.

2. You can read at night. This is a mute point for Paperwhite ereaders which are better in direct sunlight light books. Ope another point for paper books too. But, as for my Kindle Fire HD 10 and other backlight ereaders, you can actually read at night without a light.

3. Easier to take on the go. Books have bulk to them. You can take a smaller bag depending on the size of your ereader. Or keep a reading app on your phone and carry an even smaller bag. I have a beautiful cover on my Kindle and carry it as is to go.

Do you prefer paper books or an ereader?

Sugarcoated by Erin Nicholas

This is a completely free book on the Kindle and a Brother's Best Friend trope.  I had to read it.

Aiden is Zoe's brother's best friend and business partner. After a hot kiss at Christmas,  Aiden spends five months planning how to be with Zoe. But, he buys Zoe's competition to be in the same town as her. He then proceeds to try to win her heart, all while keeping a pretty big secret from her.

I loved how Aiden was with Zoe, he didn't want her for a one night stand, he wanted forever. And, he pulled out all the stops to get it.

I didn't find anything about this book I didn't like.

I rate this one ❤❤❤❤❤

Best Book To Movie Adaptations

Most of the time the book is better than the movie. Sometimes, though, the movie is just as good if not better. Here are some of my favorites.

Beauty and the Beast
First it was a book, then it was a Disney animated film, and finally we have the Disney live action film. It is, by far, my favorite of the three as some of the book retellings are creepy.

Clueless
I haven't seen all the Emma movies, there is a new one I want to see. However, so far my favorite retelling of the story is Clueless.

Harry Potter
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I did not like the Harry Potter books, the grade level was too young for me. The movies, though, turned me into a potterhead. And, I don't care what you say, I can be a potterhead without having read the books.

Pride and Prejudice
I bet you thought I'd say The Diary of Bridget Jones, but no, it's the Kiara Knightley version for me. This version made me feel Lizzie Bennet, who is my favorite sister, by the way. Who wouldn't love a bookish character.

The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings
I have, admittedly, never read the books. I used to own them, but before I had a chance to read them, a friend asked to borrow them and never returned them. Needless to say she is not my friend anymore. Then I borrowed The Hobbit from the library and started to read it. I enjoyed what I read, but I had to return it to the library. Now they are on Kindle Unlimited. Maybe I'll review them on my blog? Anyway, I'm a huge fan of the movies and sometimes I just binge watch them.

What are your favorite book to movie adaptations?

Not So Fake by R.S. Elliot

R.S. Elliot is one of my favorite authors. But, i found this gem of a novel while browsing Kindle Unlimited. While this book is marketed as a Friends to Lovers trope is also is a Brother's Best Friend trope as well.

Harrison and Charlotte work together. They are good friends and Harrison was best friends with Charlotte's brother. When Charlotte's crazy ex comes to town she quickly claims she is married to Harrison. Harrison has been in love with Charlotte for years, but never acted on it because of Charlotte's brother. While pretending to be married one thing leads to another and Charlotte winds up pregnant. But, will Harrison want the baby?

I love Brother's Best Friend tropes, even if the brother has passed on, it's a good trope.

There is never a thing I dislike about R.S. Elliot's works.

I give this book ❤❤❤❤❤

Best Apps For Reading

In the modern age we use apps for everything, weather we use them on our phone or on our ereader. But, for the purpose of ease, I'm focusing on Android apps. So, if you have an Android phone or tablet you can use these. Of course many of these apps are also available on iPhone or Kindles as well.

Goodreads
I think the most important reading app is Goodreads. I list one of my TBR lists on Goodreads, although my list is so long, I doubt I will get through them at all. But, my Kindle automatically records all books I read on Goodreads. I keep it on my phone too, for checking and getting book covers for my reviews.

Kindle
Probably the second most important app. Is the Kindle app. I don't have it on my phone anymore because I have so many apps on my phone right now. But, if I get a bigger, better phone, I will get it more reading on the go. Obviously my Kindle has the Kindle app on it. But, it's available for the phone too.

Libby
If you have a library card you can use Libby in your phone. It's by Overdrive, which used to be the app. Now Overdrive can be accessed through the Kindle. I'm pretty sure it's all the same stuff. I have Libby on my phone for audio books. But, I keep Overdrive on my Kindle for free ebooks.

Hoopla
Another library card accessed app. I don't have it on my phone do to space concerns. But, I enjoy watching movies, reading ebooks, listening to audio books, and I even checked out a comic book on there once as well. This app is also available on the Kindle, which is where I watch movies and read books.

Netgalley
If you review books for ARCs you need this app. It's not available on Kindle but that's okay because Netgalley will email books to the Kindle app if you know how to do that. Netgalley on the phone allows you to read on your phone or listen to audio books, which is what I have it for.

Free Audio Books
If you are like me, Audible is too expensive. I found this app for classic audio books. There are many classics I haven't read yet, but want to. This gives me something to listen to while I do chores around the house.

What is your favorite reading app?

Baby For The Mountain Man by Autumn Summers

I found this novel just by browsing through Kindle Unlimited. I was looking for Mountain Man romance and boy did I find it with this one!

Kai is cocky and arrogant but he is hot and that's enough for Sierra to jump his bones. But, they forgot protection. Or, rather, Kai never uses it. And Sierra ends up pregnant.  Kai is willing to step up to the plate, though.

I loved how Kai was for this book how he stepped up, how he turned sweet.

I didn't like how fast the book went.

I rated this book ❤❤❤

5 Best Bookish Quotes

I love trolling Pinterest for my favorite bookish quotes. It's  a lot of fun and gives me chills when I find a good one. I have decided to go head and post my most favorite quotes here.

"I am simply a 'book drunkard' Books have the same irresistible temptation for me that liquor has for its devotee. I cannot withstand them."
-L.M. Montgomery
This has to be my most favorite quote of all time! And, it describes me perfectly.  Sometimes I think I need therapy to stop reading so much. In fact I started this blog so I would have something else to do besides read.

"We read to know we are not alone."
-C.S. Lewis
Truer words have not been spoken. I think reading is like a religious experience. We both find fortitude in the fact that our favorite author is like a friend to us. And find comfort in the characters and world of each book we read.

"...I do so hate finishing books. I would go on with them for years..."
-Beatrix Potter
I absolutely hate when a good book ends. I know a lot of authors offer a bonus chapter if you sign up for their mailing lists, but even that bonus chapter is not the same. And, I hate being badgered into lists.

"The person, be it gentleman or lady, who has not the pleasure in a novel, must be entirely stupid. "
-Jane Austen, Northinger Abbey
I can't totally agree with this one as my husband does not read novels and he is definitely not stupid. But, isn't life without a novel boring?

"'Our library isn't extensive,' said Anne, 'but every book in it is a friend.'"
L.M. Montgomery, Anne's House of Dreams
Another L.M. Montgomery quote, and shouldn't it be true. We'll, with the exception of the TBR pile those are friends in waiting.

What are your favorite bookish quotes?

Back To You by Jess Mastorakos

This is a military romance by someone who has lived it herself. This is a sweet romance, so none of the steamy stuff in this one.

Spencer and Ellie are best friends. But Spencer has started to feel more and when Ellie splits from her boyfriend he acts on those feelings. But, then he gets scared and backs away and Ellie is lefts to figure out if she still has feelings or if she should move on.

I loved the simultaneous relationships going on in this book. I also loved how realistic this book is!

I was a little bogged down by the boot camp scenes as they unfolded. I appreciated the realistic aspect of it, but it was kinda much for me.

I rated this ❤❤❤❤

Favorite Classic Authors

I know, I know, I review contemporary romance books. What am I doing, writing a post about favorite classic authors. I'm not entirely sure myself. I started out reading classics, and it's important to see where we came from. Maybe you will find some classics to love too.

C.S. Lewis
As much as I hate Christian literature,  The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe does not feel like Christian literature to me. Now, I wouldn't read his other works, but The Chronicles of Narnia are some of my favorite books.

Jane Austen
I have read a few of her books, and watched countless film adaptations, but Pride and Prejudice is my favorite. I have read it a few times and have been thinking of buying it on my Kindle.

Emily Bronte
I read, and enjoyed Wuthering Heights as a teen, but I don't think I really got it until I watched the movie as an adult. I don't know if it was adulthood that helped me understand it better or seeing it though someone else's eyes.

Charlotte Bronte
I adore Jane Eyre, and for years I considered that to be my favorite book. I don't feel like any of the film adaptations have done it justice, though.

L.M. Montgomery
This was another favorite when I was younger. I think I've read every single one of her books. I used to always be at the library looking up more for interlibrary loans after I read through all the ones our local branch had. I enjoyed both the movie adaptation and the Netflix show Anne With An "E" although Netflix used a lot of artistic expression.

William Shakespeare
Full disclosure, I was never able to get through reading his screenplays. But, I've read a lot of adapted editions, and enjoyed them. The movies are good, so are the modern adaptations. But, the stories? Those are gold.

Louisa May Alcott
I didn't just read Little Women, I think I've read all her books. There may be a few I didn't get ahold of, only a few, and they would be obscure titles. I loved the movies too, I wish someone would make a Little Men movie or The Four Cousins.

Kept by the Beast by Hallie Bennett

I decided I needed more lumberjack in my life and went for this short novella. A beautiful retelling of Beauty and the Beast.

Poppy gets stuck on the side of the road and Asa is the one to stop and help her. It's an insta-love story. He takes her to town and helps her get her car looked at. As they have time to wait they end up acting on the spark between them.

I liked how Asa calls Poppy his little flower.  The instant connection between the two is beautiful and steamy.

I'm not sure how I feel about the "mate" talk when it's not a shifter romance. But, it wasn't too big a deal to me.

I rate this ❤❤❤❤❤

Father Of The Bride by S. E. Law

I read from this author when I need something shorter to read. Their stuff isn't on Kindle Unlimited,  though a couple books are free to download. This book must be bought.

Carolyn is humiliated and dumped at her friend's wedding,  when Preston steps in to make sure she is okay. One thing leads to another and they hook up. Soon they are seeing each other, but what happens when Carolyn realizes she's pregnant.

Although it wasn't a best friend's Dad this was still a good read and had elements of forbidden romance in it.

The first hookup, was a bit of a letdown. But, it picked up again after that.

I still rate this ❤❤❤❤❤

Ways To Get Free Books

Even if you aren't strapped for cash, reading can be extremely expensive. Especially if you read a book or two a day, like me. So, having free books is an important option.

1. The Library
The first is probably the most obvious, but also the best as well. Not only does your local Library have tons of options in the building, but interlibrary loans give you access to literally any book you want. If ebooks are more your speed then Hoopla and Libbey offer tons of ebooks with just the "cost" of a Library card.

2. Borrow From A Friend
It is another simple choice, bit borrowing from a friend is another good option for free books. Maybe make sure it is a friend you share reading taste with. I can't count how many books I borrowed, only to return unread. Better than buying a book you don't like. Another thing, return the books when your done. I loved my Lord of The Rings set before I had a chance to read them and the friend never returned them! I never loaned a book again.

3. Free Kindle Books
There aren't that many of them, but there is a fair selection of free books on the Kindle. Nook has them too if that is your ereader. Just type in "free [type of book you want to read]."

4. Kindle Unlimited
So, technically it's not free, it's  $10.00 a month. But, with so many books to choose from after paying the subscription, it's almost free. We'll worth the small amount of money to pay. After paying for Kindle Unlimited I have had so many more books available.

What is your favorite way to read for free?

Take Me To the River by Kaci Rose

I started saving this to my TBR pile and end up losing it. But, then it was in my TBR pile again. I just so happened to have the money to buy it too. That's right, this is not a Kindle Unlimited book.

Emeili gets abandoned in the woods by her cheating boyfriend. She gets lost looking for the main road and stumbles on Axel, bathing in the river. Axel has been burned by women not used to his size. But, he senses something different in Emeili. He helps her out and tries to maintain some distance. However, the two end up together just as Emeili's ex shows up to try to get her back.

I loved the mountain man lifestyle. And I loved Emeili's adaptation to it. The love between the two was epic.

There was not a thing I disliked about this book.

I rate this book ❤❤❤❤❤

Tropes I Love To Read

It's no secret that I love to read. However,  there are some  tropes I Love more than other's. I wanted to share them with you, maybe you will find your next trope to love too.

Enemies to Lovers
Probably started with Pride and Prejudice and Anne of Green Gables. But, I love it when two people that hate each other come together in love. A sub trope I  love of this is the Bully romance.

Brother's Best Friend
I love the secrets and sneaking around. When the brother explosively finds out is awesome. Although, I like it when the brother is cool with everything too.

Father's Best Friend
In the same vein, but somehow even hotter and more forbidden. Sofia T. Summers does it the best, with accidental pregnancies thrown in.

Accidental Pregnancy
Speaking of accidental pregnancies,  I love them! Something about the very real consequences of sex all in your face. It's awesome.  The Vegas Accident is one of my favorites in this trope.

Secret Pregnancy
Along the same lines as accidental pregnancy,  is the secret pregnancy. It's not something I'd ever do, and I'd strongly advise others not to as well, but I love secret pregnancies in books. Just not too late. Like if the kid is four or five, that's okay.

Friends to Lovers
Something about the closeness of friends first, lovers later, gets me. Even better if there is an accidental pregnancy involved, like in Game Changer.

Fake Relationship
Fake marriages is best, bit engagements and just plain old Fake boyfriend/girlfriend is awesome two. One of my favorite Fake marriages is in Vegas Aces Home Game. That also has brother's best friend, sports, and an accidental pregnancy as well. It's no wonder it's one of my favorites.

What are some of your favorite tropes?

My Ex's Little Sister by Lindsey Hart

I decided to read something a little different and even more forbidden than usual this time. Sister's ex.

Bella finds her sister's fiance after Rhett found out that she had been cheating on him and never had loved him. She wisks him away and offers him Alcohol. After a crazy night together he decides he wants more. He follows her home and they end up hooking up some more, but then Bella finds out just how rich Rhett is and then it's up to Rhett to fight for what he wants.

I loved the Sister's ex trope, I liked how Bella swooped in to save the day. Strong female main character, loved it!

I didn't like how it kept saying she could get pregnant with just a look. I prefer either get pregnant or don't, no in-between for me.

I still rate this ❤❤❤❤❤

Reasons To Go To The Library

I grew up in the library. Once a week my mom would grab the library milk crate and we'd head to the library to fill up for the week. I remember getting my own library card and insisting on checking out my own books. Is it any wonder that my first job was at that same library? But, for those that didn't grow up in the library, what are some compelling reasons to go?

1. It's Free
Probably my favorite reason is because it's totally free. The library is based on the principle of free so everything there is to do is free. Most libraries have overdue fines if you are late. So, that's not free. If you are lucky like me, though, your city's library decided to abolish overdue fines. That's right, I'm not penalized for keeping a book longer than I was supposed to!

2. Computer Access
If you can't afford a computer at home, the library is a good place to go. If you live in an urban area you might have a difficult time getting to a computer, especially during the summer when all the kids are out of school.

3. Printing
My library has the first 200 pages a month free printing. So, I love going to the library to print up coloring sheets and planner pages. Hardly any body has printers at home, or nice ones anyway. My library even prints in color for you if you need it.

4. Classes
Need to know how to work a computer? Draw your family tree? The Library Probably has a class for that. And, they are free to take.

5. Summer Reading Program
When I was a kid the summer reading program was my favorite part of summer.  When I was an adult that summer reading program was no more. Thankfully someone at the library thought about that and created an adult reading program. I'm not sure what the rewards are like and I think they just ask you to commit to five books instead of 35.

What are your reasons for going to the library?

Floored by Karla Sorensen

I didn't realize when I started that I'd read another book in this series before, the one that comes next. It wasn't til certain familiar stuff cropped up that I realized I'd already been in this book world before.

When Jude and Lia meet she is poking fun of European Football and extolling American Football, not even knowing that Jude is a Footballer. Even a difference of opinion doesn't stop the spark between them. One month later she shows up to let him know she's pregnant. The next semester is spent trying to get to know each other before she returns to America and baby is born.

I liked the family ties Lia has with her family. The family ties she has is beautiful too.

I didn't like how slowly the story unraveled. I know some people like that, so I'm just mentioning. Make your own choices, obviously, but I put the book down several times because it was just too slow going for me.

I'll rate this ❤❤❤❤

How To Pay For Kindle Books

As excited as I was for Kindle Unlimited, I was let down a moment when I realized not all books were included in the Unlimited package. Many times I don't even thing about it and buy the book if I want it, but sometimes I'm broke and need Amazon gift cards to pay for my books. Today, I've rounded up my favorite rewards apps that I use to pay for my books.

1. S'more
This is probably my favorite, because I don't have to do anything but download it. It puts ads on your phone's lockscreen and pays you for it. It even let's you pick out your favorite apps to access right away without unlocking your phone. I never use that, though. It pays $0.10 a day and you can cash out at $3.00, $5.00, or $10.00.

2. Swagbucks
I used Swagbucks before there was an app. I used to cash out for Walmart gift cards, but Amazon giftcards is better. You can earn points by filling out surveys, watching videos, playing games, and shopping. 100 points is equal to $1.00.

3. Cash Alarm
I have to be honest, I haven't cashed out on this one yet, even though I've made enough to cash out at $2.50. I want to save up more to cash out. I have downloaded Coin Master, Scrabble, and Family Island. You play games and earn points for the minutes you play. It takes a lot of points to cash out, but the points seem to rack up quickly. If you are really strapped for cash you can even cash out with PayPal.

These are my favorite ways to earn money for Kindle books, what are yours?

Threeway Honeymoon by Jamie Hunter

This book series is a little spicier than books I normally read. It is a FFM series, and probably the most well written one I've come across. Most don't really have any story line to them.

Julie invites Karen, her best friend and secret lover, along on her honeymoon with Tyler. Once there the three soon are sharing everything, even each other. Soon Julie and Tyler want Karen forever and not just on their honeymoon.

I love the sexy FFM that is really not covered enough in contemporary romance. I loved the shenanigans the three of them got up too. And the spice is unreal!

The only thing I didn't like was the spa guy coming in and having sex with Karen. Even though it was set up by Julie and Tyler it felt too much like cheating to me.

This book gets ❤❤❤❤❤

Popular Books I Didn't Get Into

As much as I love to read, not all books catch my eye. Even the popular books don't always keep my attention.

Harry Potter
Oh, I really wanted to like Harry Potter! I was 17 when my Aunt placed Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets in my hands. I grew up very conservatively and anything with wizards and witches wasn't allowed. I was just throwing off that lifestyle and really wanted to like Harry Potter. But, I couldn't read it. The writing is meant for a much younger audience and I just couldn't get into it. I have since watched and enjoyed all of the movies and I consider myself a bit of a Potterhead from that, but I won't be reading the books.

Twilight
I had wanted to write a vampire story and my friend insisted on some research and loaned me Twilight I wish I could say that I read it. I could not get into it. There is no specific reason to it. I don't feel too bad about it, though. She couldn't get into it either. Again, saw the movies and loved them, the books not so much.

Hunger Games
My daughter was obsessed with the books and I wished I could get into them to be closer to her. I just couldn't. At first it was having access to the books. I didn't have much money to spend on books. But, then I found it at Goodwill and picked it up. Not impressed. I liked the movies too! I just couldn't get into the books.

What popular Books could you just not get into?

20 Bookish Questions Tag

My first book tag, I'm so excited! Let's dig in.

1. How many books is too many for a series?
It depends on the series. When I was a kid I read the Elsie Dinsmore series and there are about 18 or 20 books in the series and I couldn't get enough! Other times I've hardly been able to get through five books.

2. How do you feel about cliffhangers?
I hate cliffhangers. If a book says that it's continued in book two in it's description, I won't read it. If I read a book and accidentally stumble on a cliffhanger I might go on to book two if it's good enough, but if I can get away with it I won't read it.

3. Hardback or paperback?
Unpopular opinion here, I prefer paperback. I love the look of hardback on the shelves, but when it comes to reading, I prefer paperback. I like the ease and accessibility of just plopping down with a good book and sitting in crazy positions that paperback allows.

4. Favorite book?
Without a doubt Pride and Prejudice. I actually want to read it again, then I want to watch the 2005 movie.

5. Least favorite book?
Probably Stepbrother Sugar Daddy. There is a scene in the book where he spits in her mouth and I'm just... no. That's a hard "NO" for me.

6. Love triangle,  yes or no?
I'm not a fan of love triangles. I don't like anything getting in the way of a couple's love besides the normal hangup between couple's.

7. The most recent book you couldn't finish?
Stepbrother Sugar Daddy again, that was a rough book. I liked it till that scene.

8. A book you're currently reading?
This Baby Daddy it's a collection of stories, which is something I don't normally read. But, I liked the subject of this collection.

9. Last book you recommended to someone?
Besides reviewing on my blog, and posting to social media, I don't recommend books because I know a lot of people don't like the kinds of books I like. Let's just say I don't recommend books in person.

10. Oldest book you read?
The Bobbsy Twins. It's been a long time since I read them, but a series of crime fighting twins before Nancy Drew and The Hardy Boys. Two series I was not allowed to read, growing up.

11. Newest book you've read?
The Vegas Accident. It came out on February 6th. I waited on pins and needles for it to be released.

12. Favorite author?
Probably either Sofia T. Summers or Lisa Suzanne.

13. Buying books or borrowing books?
Since I read mostly Kindle Unlimited I'd say borrowing books. I like to own books, but I don't have room for them right now. I have a bunch of books in boxes right now waiting for when I can get shelves.

14. A book you dislike but everyone seems to love?
Don't kill me, Harry Potter. I was 17 when I sat down with the first one, and it felt like it was written for a much younger audience.  Loved the movies, though.

15. Bookmark or dogears?
Are you a monster?!?! Bookmarks! Doesn't have to be a traditional bookmark, but never dog-eared the pages.

16. A book you can always reread?
I have reread Vegas Aces Home Game - End Game six times.

17. Can you read while listening to music?
I kind of have to. My husband is obsessed with music. While we don't have the same tastes, I do read while he jams.

18. One POV or multiple POV?
I like a few one POV but I like two POV better, more than that is too much to keep up with.

19. Do you read a book in one sitting or multiple days?
I read a book or two a day, but I don't read all in one sitting.

20. Who do you tag?
Anyone who wants to.

Knocked Up by Mr. Wrong by Melinda Minx

I found this book awhile ago and didn't read it, but then it showed up in one of my Facebook reader groups and I just had to give it a chance.

Meadow struggles with infertility, but she really wants a baby. She decides to hire a guy to get her pregnant. Only she ends up with Finley, a playboy billionaire with a vasectomy. Somehow, against the odds, she get pregnant. Finley had not been able to get her out of his head, so the news is less than terrible for him. Now he just wants to keep Meadow and the baby.

I loved the miracle baby aspect. The characters were real and vibrant.

There was not a thing I disliked about the novel.

I rate this book ❤❤❤❤❤
