My Best Friend's Ex by Kelly Myers

I think I found another favorite author! First Misunderstood now this gem. I didn't realize they were by the same person until I got to the end, but I finished it in probably six hours, it was so good!

Elle has always regretted the day she stepped aside and let her best friend steal Gray away. Not knowing the entire time Gray was with her, he was thinking of Elle. 7 years later, Elle is working for Gray and they see there chance to get together. However, when Elle's best friend findslouts out she does not take the news well, even though she had cheated on him when they were young. Now Elle is pregnant and on the run.

I loved that Elle and I both prefer sweet wine. Most books go on about what a wonderful dry wine it was *gag* when I get dry wine I turn it into a spritzer.

There was some catty behavior in this novel by the best friend. Been there before.

I rate this book ❤❤❤❤❤

My Bookish Wishlist

If you want to keep a bookworm happy, you can't go wrong with buying them books. If you want to really make them happy then buy them bookish gifts. I decided to round up the stuff on my bookish wishlist.

NOTE: these are not links and they aren't ads. I don't get paid for mentioning this stuff.

This Bookish tumber. It says it keeps cold stuff cold for 12 hours and hot stuff hot for 6 hours. I could fill this up with some Bridgerton tea and read a book.

The Afore mentioned Bridgerton tea. Penelope is my favorite in both the TV show and the books. I know this is merchandise of the TV show and not the books, but fans of both can desire this.

It's called a Hemingway pencil holder. I love old typewriters.  When I was a child my Aunt had one and let me play with it when I came over. Maybe this foretold that I would love reading and writing.

By far my favorite Disney princess has always and will always be Belle. I love that she was a bookworm and that the Beast was intelligent enough to realize the way to her heart was through books.

My all time favorite book is Pride And Prejudice. I believe I've mentioned this before. But, I love stylish scarves in the winter. When I get a new wool coat, I want this to go with it.

I am so picky about my wine. It has to be sweet for me to drink it. But, I do love a glass of wine as much as the next girl. A reading themed wine glass to drink out of when I'm reading and sipping sound heavenly.

Okay I've never actually had the chance to read The Lord Of The Rings because that old friend of mine stole my books. I am, however, a fan of the movies and this seemed like a fun shirt.

When I was 22 my bookworm aunt called me a nerd and I was offended. She then explained that she was a nerd too and after that I owned it. The candle claims to actually smell like books and I'm curious to see if they can accurately do that.

I didn't get my ears pierced till I was 17 and it took 3 times of piercing them to get it to stick. Even so I mostly stick to post earrings when I do wear earrings. Post style bookish earrings sounds perfect to me.

Even though I have lately been claiming that Colin Bridgerton rivals Mr. Darcy for book boyfriend affection, I don't think anyone can truly beat Mr. Darcy. I recently rewatched the 2005 Pride And Prejudice movie on HBO max.

When I was a preteen all I cared about was Anne of Green Gables. When I was 11 and my Mom was struggling to come up with a name for my youngest sister, I put forth a case to name her Anne. My parents went with the suggestion! I love this Anne Of Green Gables coffee mug. Although, if I'm honest this is more likely to hold tea rather than coffee for me.

My Millionaire Marine by Sofia T. Summers

I was so excited for this book to be released. Upon reading it I realized it referenced at least 3 of her other books. Seal Daddy, Pregnant With My Roommate's Dad,  and The Grump's Girl Friday. All books I loved.

Tristan needs a wife to inherit, and claim position of CEO. Brandy doesn't believe in marriage so she will do nicely for a fake marriage. But, the more time they spend together has them falling in love. But, trouble is brewing on the horizon and Tristan will need to go all out to save the woman he loves and his unborn children.

Oh My God! I can't wait for the next book now. Got a peak of it at the end of this one, and I'm excited.

The family support in this book is amazing! I'm jealous a little.

Talk Dirty To Me by Ali Parker

I thought this was a brother's best friend romance without accidental pregnancy. I was happy to be wrong.

Vanessa is a love guru on the radio, but in real life she has never so much as had a boyfriend. When Rhys offers to be fake engaged to her for her high-school reunion, she jumps on the offer. But, Rhys wants to be in a real relationship with Vanessa. Vanessa is insecure about her body, but Rhys has been trying to get her to see how beautiful he sees her. The night of the reunion is a turning point in their relationship and Rhys pulls out all the stops to win her back.

I saw that pregnancy coming, and you will too. Even though I kind of spoiled the story by letting you know there was an accidental pregnancy involved.

The Accidental Pregnancy Situation by London Casey

Although I do not actually follow hockey at all, I do enjoy hockey sports romance. I even Googled it and found it is absolutely true that they wear suits to the stadium for games. That is something that happens in all the books, so I had to learn for myself.

Wren is alone in a cabin and she thinks she sees a bear. She runs to Abel to save her and a couple months later Abel finds out he is going to be a Father. He offers her a place to stay and waits on her every need, all the while they are falling in love. Then Wren reads an incriminating message and Abel must pull out all the stops to prove his love.

I loved that Abel and Wren had an inside joke together about the bear attack. I also liked the sisters being pregnant together.  Wren's sister was a bit over the top. But, the relationship was sweet.

Bad Prince by Lilian Monroe

I am quickly becoming a huge fan of Lilian Monroe. I don't think I'll read the next book in the series,  but I'm loving her books.

Elle has a simple, hardworking, life. But, her roommate offers to send her the the Prince's birthday ball in her place. Prince Charlie is obsessed with Elle and can't stop spending time with her, even when his Father is trying to force him to marry someone else. But, Elle is carrying his child and the stakes have never been higher.

I'm suspicious that the author may not be American because she used the phrase "fall pregnant " in the book. That isn't a deal breaker for me, just an observation.

My Bookish Habits

Admittedly a lot of my bookish habits have ceased since switching from paper books to an ereader, however they are still there should I pick up a paper book.

Always read the last sentence
A lot of bookish types read the last page. I don't want to actually ruin the book but I want a hint of what is to come by reading the last sentence. This is not as easy to do with an ereader, so I just don't.

Skip over fantasies
This goes for both paper and ereader. I skip the steamy fantasies individuals have in the novel. I love a good spicy scene, but I have a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that it is, indeed, a fantasy. I will skim the section, make sure I'm not missing plot points, and move on to better parts of the book.

Cracked spines anger me
In fact, I don't often buy hardback books because of this. Oh I have a few, and I'm very careful with them. Paperbacks don't anger me as much when there is a crease in the spine. However the blatant disrespect of cracking the spine of a hard back book makes me so angry.

I kinda judge a book by it's cover
I know I shouldn't, but if the cover isn't attractive to me I don't even read the synopsis. It doesn't have to have a hottie on the front. But, a non attention grabbing cover does not catch my eye at all. I will turn away a pretty cover if the synopsis does fail to pique my interest.

Anything can be a bookmark
I used to spend a lot of time making pretty bookmarks. My pen pals all sent me pretty bookmarks. But, one day I couldn't find one so I grabbed a dollar and shoved it in my place. Ever since then I stopped with the pretty bookmarks and just grabbed any piece of paper I could find.

What are your bookish habits?

Have My Baby by Taryn Quinn

I stumbled on this gem when it showed up on my Kindle feed as something I might be interested in. I was enchanted by the synopsis because it's about a couple trying to get pregnant and I love that about as much as I love accidental pregnancy romance.

Seth and Aly have been best friends since high school. When Seth's daughter begs for a sibling Seth sets out to make it happen with the only person he trusts: Aly. Aly has been in love with Seth from day one and a no strings attached arrangement with him sounds disastrous. She agrees anyway. But, through the hijinks of baby making, Seth realizes he may have been in love with his best friend all along, as well.

The way this man talked about how he intended to get her pregnant was H-O-T! The love between Seth's daughter and Aly was beautiful too.

Unexpected Gift by R.S. Elliot

I didn't realize until I was almost done but this is the book before Not So Fake by R.S. Elliot. This is also a fake relationship. Although, in this one, it is an enemies to lovers romance. Not So Fake was a friend's to lovers and brother's best friend.

Amelia and Sawyer had a one night stand, in which Sawyer was rude following. Only to find out Sawyer is Amelia's new boss. Sawyer tries to get Amelia to quit so he doesn't have to look at her anymore. When Sawyer finds out he needs a wife for a year, he both bribes and blackmails Amelia to fill the position. But Amelia has a secret.

This book was amazing! It was a slow start, but most of R.S. Elliot's books are, they always deliver in the end, though.

The Baller's Secret Baby by Normandie Alleman

For some weird reason Kindle Unlimited kicked me off six days before my monthly payment was due and I had to make do with Kindle free books. This was one such book.

Nick and Eden were close as children. Eden's Mom moved away after tragedy struck for both families. Years later and Nick's Mom is being a controlling agent for him. He and Eden meet up and start dating, until Nick's Mom has him traded to keep him away from Eden. Then, Eden finds out she is pregnant, but she doesn't tell Nick's because she is afraid he will sleep around and not be a stable force in his child's life. When Nick's finds out he tries to step up, but Mom keeps getting in the way.

This book was totally worth it for a free book!

Knocked Up By The Billionaire's Son By Lilian Monroe

This book was on my TBR list for awhile. I just recently put it on my Kindle and had to read it! I love Billionaire romance, especially if the MMC is being manipulated.

Dean has broken up with the unfaithful woman his parents want him to marry. While moonlighting as a clown at children's birthday parties, he meet Samantha. Samantha is a recent divorced from an unfaithful husband. The two are swept away by their romance. Dean's parents, however, have other plans for him.

Dean is being manipulated by his parents and ex fiance. Samantha is hiding a pregnancy and willing to fight for Dean, this is a high drama romance and I love it!

Bookaholics Anonymous Tag

Looks like it's time for another book tag. This is a short, but sweet one.

What do you like about buying new books?
Books to keep. Eventually I cull paper books. Ebooks stay on my Kindle forever and get reread.

How often do you buy new books?
Every two weeks.

Bookstore or online book shopping- which do you prefer?
Online book shopping. No pesky stickers over the description.

Do you have a favorite bookshop?
I suppose Crystal Wizards. It's a witchy shop, really.  It has candles, incense, oils, and more. But, my favorite part is the shelves of used earth based religion reading. It's where I get most of my witchy books.

Do you pre-order books?
Sometimes, if I have the money. Most of the time I just wait for it to come out.

Do you have a monthly book buying limit?
Not really. I'm pretty good about being careful with my spending.

Book buying bans- are they something for you?
Nobody tells me not to buy anymore books. Even me. If I have the money, I buy the book. If I don't have the money, I don't.

How big is your wishlist?
Hundreds if not thousands of books, and counting as I write this.

Which three books from your wishlist do you wish to own now?
I don't know how to answer this since most of the books I want are on Kindle Unlimited. There are a few purchase to own books on there, but they are buried in my TBR wishlist.

Who do I tag?
Everyone

Break Up With Him, For Me by Whitney G.

I saw the title of this book and had to read it! I didn't care about the synopsis (though that was amazing too) and I didn't care that it was a love triangle (even though I avoid those like the plague). The title was enough to reel me in.

Hayden and Penelope have been in love with each other for years. But Penelope is dating another man and Hayden is her best friend. He is also her brother's best friend and has been looking out for her for years. When Hayden discovers some vile truths about Penelope's boyfriend he does everything he can to get her to break up with the boyfriend and start dating Hayden.

I have a really hard time pronouncing Penelope in my head when I read.

I lost my V card the same way Penelope did. This book made me feel seen.

Misunderstood by Kelly Myers

I love Nanny pregnancy romance! Ever since I read Big Bossy Mistake by Lilian Monroe, I couldn't get enough of the trope.

Hunter stumbles across June when his daughter slips away and finds June. He quickly offers her a job as his Nanny. It isn't long before they are hooking up. Then Hunter moves his ex in during her recovery. June finds out she is pregnant, but she fears coming between Hunter and his family so she runs away.

I thought it great that Hunter thought about purposely getting Jane pregnant. He decided against it, but then she accidentally gets pregnant anyways.

Those Three Little Words by Meghan Quinn

I just love a blue book. Blue is not my favorite color, but I do like it for some things. But, blue isn't the only reason I chose this book. I've been wanting to read a Meghan Quinn book for awhile now. Top that off with this being a brother's best friend romance with a side of accidental pregnancy. Yes please.

Eli has been into Penny since the moment he first met her. She is, however, his best friend's little sister and he has been warned to never go near her. On Eli's birthday he sees her in a bar and gives into temptation. It was only supposed to be one night. Then Eli and his best friend are sat down together and informed Penny is pregnant. Her brother makes Eli move in with her to take care of her, all while warning to not ever hook up with her again. Eli starts to have feelings, but tamps them down. He cannot fall in love with his best friend's sister.

This book is hilarious! I laughed so many times. Penny likes to mess with Eli and it's not at all like in Pushing Patrick where they were playing with each other's feelings. This was gentle messing.

Pregnant: Who Is The Father? by Lydia Hall

Contrary to the title of the book, she does know the who the Father Of her child is. But, the title does draw you in. The story draws you in even more.

Joshua and Caitlyn are best friends. When Caitlyn's fiance cheats on her (again) she leaves him and run to Joshua. After some heady confessions on Joshua's part, they begin dating. Just when Caitlyn realizes she is pregnant and in love, her ex decides he wants her back. He is ruthless about it, and Caitlyn goes with him to save Joshua. But, Joshua isn't above being a little ruthless himself.

I always like a story where the guy has been in love all along.

I was on the edge of my seat with this one. I knew it would have a happy ending, but it was touch and go for a minute.
